General Description of Position
Under the general direction and supervision of the Senior Director, Workforce
Solutions, the Computer Applications Workforce Trainer teaches advanced
Microsoft PC applications including Excel (advanced functionality such as
conditional formatting, pivot tables, VBA, etc.) and other digital literacy
applications to help adult learners gain essential career and workforce
skills. Consults, develops and delivers workforce training for public
enrollment and customized classes at SCC and business locations.
Business application classes will cover basic to advanced level topics,
including but not limited to Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access,
PowerPoint), Computer Basics, Windows, Google for Business, and Power BI.
This is a full-time temporary grant funded position with a maximum renewal
cycle of up to 24 months (expected end date of December 31, 2024), but may
be ended at any time or extended depending on grant availability.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Provide professional subject matter expert (SME) consultation in collaboration with SCC Workforce Solutions team members at area client or workforce partner meetings.
Conduct needs assessments with area businesses and workforce partners to identify strategies to meet workforce skills needs.
Customize course content to meet varying client business objectives.
Relate technical functions, software features and workforce applications to diverse learners.
Develop, organize, evaluate and prepare training materials and curriculum.
Evaluate course effectiveness and quality; actively seek opportunities for continuous improvement to optimize learning and workforce outcomes.
Provide responsive customer service, regularly evaluating customer needs, satisfaction and outcomes.
Develop or revise course objectives, content, description, and instructional strategies of workforce computer courses.
Assist with marketing/promoting courses to individuals and organizations.
Acquire knowledge of technologies to develop new courses to meet evolving workforce needs.
Participate in professional development activities
Participate in client and community partnership meetings
Advise clients, community partners, and students
Travel and instruct students at various training locations in Southeast Nebraska
Participate in Continuing Education team meetings

Minimum Qualifications
Associate's degree in Computer Information Technology or related field.
Two (2) years' work experience as an IT Trainer, Technical trainer or similar role.
Advanced level knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel and other business software applications.
Desired Qualifications
Bachelor's degree preferred
Experience teaching adult learners in a classroom setting.
Remote teaching experience
Experience designing technical course material
Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) Certification(s)
Experience with SharePoint, SQL, Data Science, and/or CompTIA skills such as Security plus, net plus and A plus or other Computer Science topics
Salary
$50,300/yr
