Position Title Compliance Coordinator

Position Summary

The Compliance Coordinator will assist with all day-to-day operations of the UIW Athletics Compliance Office. The qualified individual is responsible for the monitoring systems which assist the University in complying with all University, Conference, and NCAA rules and regulations governing intercollegiate athletics. Reports to the Associate AD of Compliance.

This position is considered a “Responsible Employee” under Title IX federal regulations and “Mandatory Reporter” under Texas state law and the UIW Sexual Misconduct Policy. As a Mandatory Reporter, this position requires you, as the employee, to promptly report any incident that you witness or receive information about Title IX violations. These reporting responsibilities are set out in the UIW Sexual Misconduct Policy.

Job Duty Name Management and Teaching

Description of Job Duties

  • Track and maintain information on prospective student-athletes regarding the NCAA Eligibility Center.
  • Conduct initial and transfer eligibility on incoming prospective student- athletes.
  • Assist in the certification for practice, competition, and athletic aid.
  • Process requests for withdrawals and addition to sport team rosters.
  • Process student-athletes outside competition requests.
  • Process sports teams end of season updates.
  • Serve as a liaison to admissions and financial aid.
  • Process permission to contact and transfer information requests.
  • Assist in the eligibility and squad list certification.
  • Coordinate NLI approvals.
  • Assist with distribution of NLI forms to the coaching staff and/or prospective student-athletes.
  • Process increase, reduction, and cancellation of financial aid request forms.
  • Process, record and monitor official/unofficial visit logs.
  • Oversee the collection and monitoring of athletic staff phone logs.
  • contact/evaluation logs, and recruiting logs.
  • Process and approve playing and practice season declaration forms, monitor practice, and countable athletically related activity log, and check practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications

    Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of the NCAA Division I rules and regulations, with a demonstrated understanding of and adherence to conference and NCAA Division I rules and regulations;
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures;
  • Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.
  • Required Education

    Bachelor's degree.

    Required Work Experience

    One (1) year working experience in NCAA compliance. Additional relevant education will be considered in lieu of experience.
