Vaccine education, literacy, and access program delivery, leadership, training, and coordination

Work with UGA Extension and Morehouse School of Medicine faculty, researchers, and data analysts, to inform database development and monitoring for needs assessment and to inform research and outreach initiatives

Assistance with community-engaged research and program evaluation coordination, including data collection, data management, data analysis, reporting to external oversight organizations, report writing, scientific publication writing and review

The Community Health Program and Research Coordinator will work with the partner institutions, UGA Extension and Morehouse School of Medicine, faculty and researchers to support, implement, and evaluate community health research and capacity building initiatives related to vaccine education

Work collaboratively on multidisciplinary teams to foster a systems approach to community health.

Work collaboratively with state and federal agencies, other universities, industry, the Georgia CTSA, partners, and other entities to expand program reach in the areas of vaccine education and access

Collaborate with partner institutions faculty, to conduct focus groups to inform alignment of needs with resources and to mitigate decision and access barriers

Facilitate local health coalitions meetings to assess and prioritize community needs, document prioritized needs, and communicate with various stakeholders at the state and local level, and support development of vaccine education and access.

Provide training for local faculty and staff, coalitions, and other community stakeholders on vaccine education and access and public health principles.

Conduct educational meetings in local communities to address vaccine hesitancy.

Support translational research and vaccine education and access projects through activities such as data collection, data management, data analysis, report writing and contribution to scientific publications, presentations, and reports.

Collaborate with partner institutions faculty, to conduct focus groups to inform alignment of needs with resources and to mitigate decision and access barriers

Serve as a liaison between partner institutions, the Georgia Clinical and Translational Science Alliance, local communities, and other key stakeholders

Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification in Position

Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) or Master Certified Health Education Specialist (MCHES) preferred

Graduate degree (Ph.D. DPH) in the field preferred

Three or more years of experience in public/community health, Extension, teaching, research or related area. Experience working with diverse audiences; utilizing distance learning technologies. Preferred Licenses, Certifications, or Registrations: Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES), Masters Certified Health Education Specialist (MCHES), and/or Certified in Public Health.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies

Experience working with community leadership groups

Experience in research (data collection, data management, data analysis, writing for scientific publications) preferred

Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment involving multi- tasking

Strong interpersonal communication and public speaking skills

Strong writing skills

Ability to work independently and in teams.

Ability to work with a wide variety of colleagues and audiences including academic colleagues, medical professionals, practitioners, Extension agents, graduate and undergraduate students and the public

Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
