Description
POSITION SUMMARY : This position serves as hands-on garden maintenance
work under the supervision of the Garden Coordinator. Tasks include, but are
not limited to, help with seasonal work such as planting, weeding, and
harvesting and any projects that arise in the garden, while the bulk of hours
will be spent on general landscaping work, such as mowing and weed-whacking
(which duties will be shared with other garden assistants).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
Maintain a tidy and pleasant atmosphere in the garden by ensuring weekly tasks are completed.
Work through a clear list of tasks each week to tend to the overall condition of the garden.
Assist Coordinator in creating a garden vision where appropriate.
Assist Coordinator in ensuring goals of garden are met (such as the distribution of food, engaging the community in garden work, etc.).
Participate in necessary seasonal work and projects.
Carry out other duties assigned by the Coordinator
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES, MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to perform physical work.
Flexibility in hours (since weather and other factors affect the garden tasks)
