The Role

As Communications and Engagement Officer you will be the lead contact for all marketing and communications for our student enrichment and employability programme - Enhancing Futures. Working closely with the Communications and Engagement Manager you will contribute to the development and delivery of a marketing communications plan.

This role will support the development and implementation of a recruitment and conversion plan along with engagement activity to increase participants in the programme.

Working closely with relevant colleagues and students, you will produce and manage editorial content for relevant web pages content ranging from thought leadership pieces, blogs, insights and articles for both the web and press.

The Successful Applicant

You will have proven experience in developing integrated communication campaigns (print and digital) for a wide audience within a recruitment focused or membership organisation. Excellent oral and written skills are essential along with demonstratable experience of creating digital content to engage with a range of audiences.

You will also have:

  • Degree level education or significant experience working in a similar role
  • Strong relationship building skills with the ability to communicate to a wide range of audiences
  • Excellent ability to write engaging copy and articulate complex ideas in a digestible way.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and often under pressure and to deadlines.
  • Able to generate own ideas and use your initiative to proactively solve problems if they arise.
  • A positive and flexible approach to work, this role will involve some evening/weekend working and travel in the UK and overseas.
  • An appreciation of other cultures; the global reach of the University and its international agenda.
