Position Summary Information

Job Goal

To develop relationships in-district and out-of-district with prospective students, high school partners and the community to recruit, refer, and support new students/participants assigned areas. Serve as a representative of NICC to promote and provide educational services that respond to community needs. Help students navigate the systems, services, resources and training available to successfully facilitate a pathway to a career or further education.

Duties and Responsibilities

Collaborate with an integrated student services team to provide access to NICC programs and opportunities to explore career options in high schools through innovative and interactive presentations focused on employment/career opportunities.

Work closely with assigned in-district and out-of-district high schools, schedule and visit high schools, referral agencies, community groups, businesses and industries in assigned territory to provide awareness on career pathways, NICC options and to secure potential students for NICC courses and programming.

Assist in planning, organizing and conducting, campus events, orientations and other new student events.

Assist in meeting with undecided students to identify educational pathways and provide career planning and advising that fills student needs.

Coordinate and assist in the recruitment of adult students. Includes attending and/or planning events at community organizations or College centers to recruit credit and non-credit adult populations.

Work cooperatively with the integrated student services and academic departments to ensure a smooth matriculation process for students from recruitment to placement into employment upon completion of programming.

Ensure timely and complete follow-up on potential applicants utilizing traditional and high-tech communication methods.

Provide prospects with information regarding admission to the College and related enrollment processes.

Meet with prospective students and visitors during campus visits and acquaint them with the campus.

Qualifications

AA/AS degree with minimum of 3 years' experience or Bachelor's degree required.

KNOWLEDGE , SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Ability to represent the college positively, enthusiastically, and effectively with prospective students, parents, secondary school personnel, college faculty, staff, alumni, referral agencies, community groups, businesses, and general public.

Experience in sales or post-secondary education, preferably with community college experience. Marketing, and/or college recruiting experience.

Proven skill in program planning, public presentation/speaking and collaboration.
