About the role

We have an exciting opportunity available for a Clinical Trial Support Officer (CTSO) to join the Oncology Clinical Trials Office (OCTO), working in a team of trial management professionals, running a varied and growing portfolio of clinical trials. The CTSO will work closely with trial management teams and be involved in a range of activities, particularly in supporting the timely and accurate receipt of trial participants' data. The post will report on a day-to-day basis to an assigned Trial Manager.

The post will be based in the Oncology Clinical Trials Office (OCTO), Level 2, Cancer & Haematology Centre, Churchill Hospital, Oxford, OX3 7LE although there will be opportunity for some hybrid office/remote working.

This post is offered on a full-time, fixed-term basis until 30 June 2024 in the first instance. A minimum of 0.8 FTE will be considered.

About you

You will be educated to A level standard or equivalent in a biomedical or associated numerical subject and have previous experience of handling medical, patient or other personal data, preferably in an NHS, contract research organisation or pharmaceutical company environment. Office management and clerical skills, including excellent word processing, document layout and data entry using MS Office, are essential, along with critical attention to detail and high standards of accuracy. You will have excellent inter-personal skills and the ability to communicate effectively in both written and spoken English. A basic understanding of clinical research procedures and experience of clinical research in the UK would be advantageous.
