The Department of Infectious Diseases is a recently established department of the Melbourne Medical School, Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences that is based at The Peter Doherty Institute for Infection and Immunity (Doherty Institute). Research within the department encompasses infectious diseases including antimicrobial resistance and healthcare associated infections, malaria, HIV, tuberculosis, influenza, viral hepatitis, sexually-transmitted infections, skin pathogens and emerging infectious diseases such as COVID-19. Our researchers come from diverse backgrounds, including discovery research and basic scientists, clinician researchers, epidemiologists, public health physicians and microbiologists.
About the Role The SNAP ( Staphylococcus aureus Network Adaptive Platform) trial aims to determine the best treatment options for patients with Staphylococcus aureus (golden staph) bloodstream infections. The trial is led by Professor Steven Tong and Professor Josh Davis, supported by the Clinical Trial Manager and research team.
The Data Coordinator will help design, develop and maintain a clinical trial database. You will develop data entry, data cleaning, data formatting and data extraction processes. You will liaise with the group members and research sites to resolve data inconsistences and questions. You will be required to use a variety of database and data analysis applications and understand how these interact. You will work closely with members of the trial management group, as well as investigators from national and international collaborating institutions.

About You This position requires the incumbent to have demonstrated experience with database management. You will need to ensure that work is conducted with attention to detail within the predetermined study protocol. You will be required to report progress of the study database and data collection on a regular basis.
