The School of Nursing, Midwifery and Social Work have an opportunity for a Clinical Technician to join the team. The primary purpose of the Clinical Technician is to support the students and teaching staff within the clinical component of programs offered by the School. You will prepare clinical simulation spaces for teaching and maintain clinical simulation equipment and consumables. Working primarily at the Mater Hospital campus, with some travel to the PA Hospital campus, you will provide Clinical Skills support and oversee facilities and operations functions.
Key responsibilities will include:
Liaising with designated clinical units/areas and supporting clinical lecturers
Supporting preparation and conduct of Clinical Skills sessions for students
Ordering, storing, stock taking, and maintenance/cleaning of equipment
Requesting repairs, maintenance, alterations, and improvements within the clinical simulation spaces
Conducting annual workplace inspections with clinical sites, workshops, and offices
This is a full-time (100%), fixed-term position until 28 June 2024. Work hours are within regular business hours, however flexible start and finish times can be negotiated with the preferred candidate.
At HEW level 5, the full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $74,378 - $82,842, plus a generous super allowance of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be up to $87,023 - $96,926 annually.
About YouExperience in a clinical setting in health, nursing, or midwifery.
Completion of an undergraduate degree in health (desirable but not required); or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
Knowledge of nursing and midwifery equipment and medical supplies or the ability to rapidly gain this knowledge.
Capacity to function as part of a team with an ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with School staff.
Demonstrated ability to be flexible and adaptable to change and willing to explore new options and find creative solutions to problems.
Current Australian Drivers Licence.
Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
Excellent organisational skills, demonstrates attention to detail, and the ability to prioritise tasks.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
