Clinical Research Nurse

Experimental Medicine, Nuffield Department of Clinical Medicine (NDM),Oxford Respiratory Trials Unit, Churchill Hospital site Grade 6: £29,614 - £35,326 per annum (pro rata for part time)

We have a number of Research Nurse positions available to join the clinical trial team at ORTU. You will primarily work on the set up and delivery of the PRINCIPLE/PANORAMIC trial in the primary care setting, checking trial participant summary care records for eligibility and safe prescribing, randomising participants into the trial and contacting trial participants and GPs by phone and ensuring safety monitoring is carried out to the highest standards. The maintenance of accurate and comprehensive records is an essential aspect of this post.

PRINCIPLE/PANORAMIC is a national urgent public health trial of Covid-19 treatments in the community, which aims to reduce recovery time and prevent hospital admission. You will be based on-site at the Oxford Respiratory Trials Unit (ORTU), Churchill Hospital site, OX3 7LE, but may be required to receive initial training and spend some time at the Primary Care Clinical Trials Unit (PC-CTU) in the Gibson Building, Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences, Woodstock Road, Oxford, OX2 6GG. You may also be asked to support other trials run by ORTU.

We are seeking to employ an experienced nurse that can bring either clinical expertise or research experience to the role. They should be able to work autonomously managing a caseload of patients while adhering to individual study requirements. A flexible, team player is highly desired. You will have excellent interpersonal skills, flexibility and be able to work effectively as part of a team or independently. You will be NMC registered nurse, with the ability to demonstrate post registration experience. It is essential to have a broad area of knowledge of primary care or research.

This post is full time (part time will be considered) and fixed term for 18 months in the first instance with the possibility of extension.
