  • Position Summary

    The Department of Pediatrics is seeking Clinical Research Coordinators to join our team in a full-time position to work within the division of Child and Adolescent Health. Columbia University Irving Medical Center's Department of Pediatrics is a world leader in providing care for children. Our mission areas include Healthcare, Education and Research. We offer care for our patients in over 25 specialty areas as well as individualized care for complex cases. Our Residency, Fellowship and Graduate programs are among the best in the Nation. Our Clinical, Translational and Basic Science research features collaborations across specialties and stretches from the bench to bedside. We also have several active Clinical trials available to our patients. These positions will support the department by providing research support to our PROTRACT (PASC) multi-specialty research team. Columbia PROTRACT is a comprehensive clinical study of the symptoms, illness, and underlying factors related to SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) and follow-on illness (sequelae) related to initial COVID-19 infection in children. The study's main aims are to identify the clinical phenotypes of symptomatic PASC and examine multi-level determinants of PASC development, evolution and severity and phenotype cardiopulmonary function and fitness for children with a history of SARS-CoV-2. This a large multi- disciplinary team studying our time's greatest health challenge. We will build upon our special PASC-Clinic to provide enhanced procedures and monitoring of a large cohort of pediatrics patients.

    Responsibilities

  • Coordinate research study visits, as per the IRB protocol

  • Assist with specimen collection, processing and storage, as needed

  • Administer outcome measures to study participants

  • Enter and maintain research data, ensuring data quality, integrity and compliance with all regulatory, institutional and departmental requirements

  • Maintain regular contact with study team to provide frequent study and participant updates

  • Complete required regulatory tasks including IRB submissions, protocol/consent form modifications, maintenance of regulatory binders and preparation for site visits

  • Perform related duties & responsibilities as requested

  • Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience required; plus two years of related experience.
  • Minimum Education requirement (1.5 years of related experience for each year of education maybe used to fulfill education requirements.)

    Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with phlebotomy
