  • Position Summary

    The Clinical Research Coordinator I will oversee all current clinical research projects in the Columbia University Irving Medical Center, Center for Precision Medicine and Genomics in the Department of Medicine, Division of Pulmonary, Allergy & Critical Care. The laboratory studies the genetic basis of lung disease, including pulmonary fibrosis.


  • Responsible for study subject management: facilitate screening, enrollment, and treatment of research subjects in compliance with established regulations and guidelines and internal standard operating procedures.
  • Assist with eligibility assessment and obtaining written informed consent as appropriate.
  • Maintain and disseminate accurate listings of active and potential subjects.
  • Function as a liaison with sponsoring agencies and external sites.
  • Facilitate and help lead research team meetings.
  • Coordinate sample collection, processing and storage activities.
  • Help to prepare and oversee deviations and serious adverse events reports for the Institutional Review Board and other agencies.
  • Assists with regulatory submissions including protocol review and monitoring
  • Provide training and mentorship to junior and new staff.
  • Assist with short term projects and provide cross coverage to various research team members as needed.
  • Manage data entry to ensure data integrity and consistency.
  • Perform additional related duties as needed.
  • Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience, plus three years of related experience
  • Other Requirements

  • Participation in the medical surveillance program
  • Contact with patients and/or human research subject
  • Successful completion of applicable systems training requirements
