Position Summary

The Clinical Research Coordinator I will oversee all current clinical research projects in the Columbia University Irving Medical Center, Center for Precision Medicine and Genomics in the Department of Medicine, Division of Pulmonary, Allergy & Critical Care. The laboratory studies the genetic basis of lung disease, including pulmonary fibrosis.

Responsibilities

Responsible for study subject management: facilitate screening, enrollment, and treatment of research subjects in compliance with established regulations and guidelines and internal standard operating procedures.

Assist with eligibility assessment and obtaining written informed consent as appropriate.

Maintain and disseminate accurate listings of active and potential subjects.

Function as a liaison with sponsoring agencies and external sites.

Facilitate and help lead research team meetings.

Coordinate sample collection, processing and storage activities.

Help to prepare and oversee deviations and serious adverse events reports for the Institutional Review Board and other agencies.

Assists with regulatory submissions including protocol review and monitoring

Provide training and mentorship to junior and new staff.

Assist with short term projects and provide cross coverage to various research team members as needed.

Manage data entry to ensure data integrity and consistency.

Perform additional related duties as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience, plus three years of related experience

Other Requirements

Participation in the medical surveillance program

Contact with patients and/or human research subject

Successful completion of applicable systems training requirements
