Applications are invited for appointment as Clinical Psychologist/Senior Social Worker (at the rank of Counsellor) in the Department of Social Work and Social Administration, to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, and with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.

The Department is currently conducting a community mental health project with over 15 local NGOs and primary care partners. It aims to develop a viable and sustainable best practice model to promote adults' and older adults' mental wellness across multiple socio-medical disciplines in Hong Kong.

Applicants for Senior Social Worker should possess a Master's degree or above in Social Work with registration as a Registered Social Worker in Hong Kong. They should have at least six years of experience working in local mental health or elderly service settings as a registered social worker and at least three years of experience in a supervisory position(s) for frontline social workers. Applicants for Clinical Psychologist should possess a Master's degree in clinical psychology, preferably with solid work experience in mental health rehabilitation services for adults and/or older adults. Applicants should have high proficiency in written and oral communication in both Chinese (including Cantonese) and English and be capable of working independently and as a team member in an organised manner. Post-qualification experience in providing social worker training, clinical intervention and service coordination would be an advantage.

The appointee will work in the HKJC-funded project mental health project and be responsible for providing on-site clinical supervision and case consultation on workers' case assessments, delivering and coordinating professional training to social workers, conducting direct clinical work and groups with the adult population, and tracking NGOs' deliverables of the Project. S/he will also develop public education content for the general public, assist the team in carrying out pilot studies on different intervention approaches, assist in clinical protocol developments for frontline workers, and perform other tasks as assigned by the project team leaders. Outside work duties to NGOs, community events and office duties are expected on all weekdays and occasionally over the weekends.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.

The University only accepts online applications for the above post. Applicants should apply online and upload an up-to-date CV with supporting documents, a cover letter stating their background, and three references for the post applied. Review of applications will start as soon as possible and continue until the deadline or until the post is filled, whichever is earlier.
