Clinical & Laboratory Senior Research Associate – Prostate and Bladder Cancer

Hours: Part-time (50% FTE)

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Research Associate in Prostate and Bladder Cancer to work in our Urology and Prostate Cancer Research Group. You will be based at the Old Road Campus Research Building as your normal place of work.

Reporting to the Head of Department, you will be providing day-to-day supervision to Research Assistants in the group and will be responsible for your own research project within a discrete area of a wider research programme into focal therapy and genetics of prostate cancer.

About you

The Successful candidate will hold a relevant PhD with post-qualification senior research experience. A full medical qualification from the UK or elsewhere, and clinical research experience as well as significant experience of focal therapy in prostate cancer, particularly irreversible electroporation and other modalities is essential for this role. You will also have a strong publication record and familiarity with the existing literature and research in the field. Previous experience of managing a research budget and preparing successful research grant applications is desirable.

This part-time post is available immediately and is fixed-term for 12 months.
