The Department of Curriculum and Instruction at East Tennessee State
University seeks one full-time Clinical Instructor for a 9-month, position
beginning August 2021, to teach in on-ground and on-line courses. Courses
taught include, for example, clinical seminar courses, as well as planning and
assessment courses. Some evening teaching may be required. This position is
not eligible for tenure.
The new faculty will join a dynamic department that serves regional school
systems. Responsibilities for the position include: teaching; mentoring;
evaluating and assessing student performance in graduate and undergraduate
classes that focus on elementary (K-6) education; maintenance of student
records; data collection and analysis; and participation in departmental,
college, and university professional activities.

Ability to support undergraduate research and student professional
Master's Degree or higher in the field of teacher education or related
One year of teaching experience at the college/university level (Related
part-time, and graduate assistance experience may be considered).
Demonstrated knowledge of diversity and addressing multiculturalism.
Documented work in elementary (K-6) grades as a teacher of record.
Doctorate preferred in the field of Curriculum & Instruction or related
Two years of experience teaching at the college level.
Knowledge of edTPA assessment.
Actively participated in the field of teacher education serving as a
(K-6) teacher of record within the last 5 years.
