Rowan-Virtua School of Osteopathic Medicine is currently seeking a board- eligible/board-certified advanced nurse practitioner to join the department of psychiatry within the Rowan Integrated Special Needs Center. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work as an integral part of an interdisciplinary team. Opportunities to teach the next generation of leaders in the medical field are a part of this position. In support of Rowan Medicine's mission and vision, the selected candidate will provide and manage direct patient care at one or more of the out-patient clinical offices located in the Southern New Jersey area.
Working collaboratively with a physician and under the clinical supervision of the Director, the Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) has the responsibility for meeting the needs of a determined number of patients in an outpatient or hospital setting. The APN provides consultation to clinical staff regarding patient care issues, and may also provide patient education to meet the needs of the patient and families. The ideal candidate participates in a collegial relationship with physicians, psychologists, social workers, nurses and other health care professionals and prescribes or recommends drugs or other forms of treatment for the patient's psychiatric care. Experience working with patients with intellectual and physical disabilities, complex medical needs, traumatic brain injury, or lifespan care preferred.

Our clinical campus is located in Southern New Jersey, which is within the Philadelphia metropolitan area approximately eight miles from Center City Philadelphia, one hour from the Jersey Shore, and hour and a half from NYC and two hours from Washington, DC.
