Job Summary

The University of Michigan Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology (C.S. Mott Children's Hospital) is seeking a pediatric gastroenterologist with expertise in intestinal failure, intestinal rehabilitation, nutrition more broadly in patients without intestinal failure (both parenteral and enteral), and general GI. The job would include supervision of the intestinal rehabilitation team and their work in the inpatient and outpatient setting. The candidate would work with the hospital to develop a program for the supervision of parenteral nutrition throughout the hospital and develop a program for the outpatient support of parenteral nutrition via supervision of advanced practice providers. There are also opportunities for the development of scholarly activities (research) and for leadership. Job duties will include the inpatient GI service, inpatient consultations and out-patient care, supervision and teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows, scholarly activity, and administrative duties. The candidate would serve as the Medical Director of the Children's Intestinal Rehabilitation Program and the Medical Director of Parenteral Nutrition for the C.S. Mott Children's Hospital. The ideal candidate would have training or experience with management of patients requiring intestinal rehabilitation and long-term parenteral nutrition. Rank of selected candidates is dependent upon qualifications.

Required Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have an MD or DO degree, be Board Eligible/Board Certified in Pediatrics and in Pediatric Gastroenterology, and will hold or have the ability to obtain the appropriate medical licenses in the State of Michigan. The ideal candidate will have excellent clinical skills. Evidence of clinical competence and competence in clinical and didactic teaching is expected.
