Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit
The Department of Psychiatry at the University of North Carolina is seeking a
full time Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) to work in the Emergency Department.
The Clinical Social Worker is responsible for the screening, ongoing
evaluation, and treatment of patients presenting with mental health or
substance abuse complaints. Professional work in augmenting the primary health
care physician in making psychiatric diagnosis and providing psychiatric
treatment including but not limited to giving a psychiatric diagnosis,
providing supportive therapy and providing resources and disposition
collaboration with the multi -disciplinary crisis team. Position always
functions in the Emergency department. Candidates with LCSW-A will be
considered. This position is 40 hours per week with rotating shifts.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Masters degree in Social Work and licensed in the state of North Carolina.

One year of professional social work experience, preferably in emergency and
