The Nursing Program invites applications for a nine month non-tenure track faculty position to provide online/distance education nursing instruction for our MSN nursing programs.

Typical Duties/Job Duties

Basic duties include preparation of syllabus and course materials, delivery of online curriculum lectures/clinical, grading, and assignment of grades. Additional responsibilities include: recruiting and advising students; committee participation; course and program assessment, and university service.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

The successful applicant will possess experience in the management and organization of curriculum delivery of online/distance nursing education in graduate MSN curricula. The candidate must possess strong communication and organizational skills along with a desire to develop innovative learning experiences. Candidates should be dedicated to excellence in teaching, with a strong commitment to high professional standards, both in and outside the classroom. Knowledge and experience with technology sufficient to teach assigned courses is a must. Candidates must possess the ability to participate and develop curriculum, prepare materials and deliver effective didactic and clinical presentations. Experience with distance education curriculum development, delivery, and assessment is mandatory.

Minimum Qualifications

Qualifications include: an earned Master's Degree in Nursing is required; an earned doctorate in nursing is preferred. Certification as an Advanced Family Nurse Practitioner is required. Current unrestricted RN license in the State of Texas is required. A minimum of three years experience in an academic setting is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

Doctorate in Nursing. Minimum 3 years experience in an academic setting.
