Hull York Medical School is looking for a practicing clinician who is passionate about educating the doctors and healthcare professionals of the future.
As well as an enthusiasm for teaching and developing skills in our students, we are looking for a clinician who will inspire students to achieve their best, both academically and professionally and provide a strong role model for their subsequent development. The successful applicant will be keen to develop their educational role; you may not already have experience of PBL or higher educational qualifications, but we welcome applications from those who are willing to undertake these.
Clinical Educational Facilitator roles are supported with tutoring and student support activities through continued professional development. Opportunities to progress to a more substantial role within the School will become available as part of this development. There is a robust programme of training, peer support and observation, given in both PBL facilitation and clinical skills teaching. Successful applicants will be expected to contribute to assessment and admissions processes as part of their role.
Applicants for the Clinical Educational Facilitator role will need to commit to a minimum of two, fixed, 4-hour teaching sessions per week on a Monday and Thursday morning for PBL/Clinical Skills facilitation during the academic term and will be based at the Hull site. We expect the applicant to commit to all dates within the academic terms. Additionally, the successful applicant will be expected to contribute approximately 2.5 hours per week for preparatory work, paid for within the contract and a minimum of 3 days per year involvement in assessment and admissions activities.
The overall annualised commitment for the role available will be 0.185 FTE.
