Position Summary

The UNC Department of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry in Chapel Hill is expanding our Division. We are seeking two child psychiatrists to provide clinical care in the Child & Adolescent Outpatient Clinic. The child psychiatrist would work within a team setting that include Psychologists, a Social Worker and other Child Psychiatrists. The outpatient setting would be faculty practice providing direct care to patients and families, tele- psychiatry and/or integrative care clinics. Additionally, this position will include some time providing direct patient care in our expanding virtual care program that may include a variety of patient care settings (including outpatient psychiatry, emergency room psychiatry, and consult-liaison psychiatry), which can be tailored for the clinical interest of the faculty member. These will be full-time fixed term (clinical) positions at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. The rank will be based on the qualifications of the applicants.

Duties also may include teaching/supervising fellows, residents, medical students and other trainees from a variety of disciplines. Educational and research opportunities are available and encouraged.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Applicants must have an MD or DO and be eligible for North Carolina licensure; have completed a Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship and be BC/BE.

Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience

The successful candidate should have strong clinical skills and demonstrated teaching skills necessary to enable them to successfully provide educational and training experiences for medical students, residents, fellows, other health care trainees, and clinicians. Candidates should have clinical experience working with children and adolescent patients of all ages.
