    The Counseling Program at the University of Louisiana at Monroe (ULM) is housed in the College of Health Sciences. The Counseling Program is 100% online and is accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Counseling and Related Programs (CACREP). The Program offers concentrations in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, School Counseling, Addictions Counseling, and Combined options. The Counseling Program is currently in the process of constructing the Telehealth Counseling Clinic that will run within the program.

    The Counseling faculty at ULM are happy to announce an open position for a Clinical Assistant Professor of Counseling (non-tenure track) with the primary responsibility of providing live, virtual supervision to interns practicing within the Telehealth Counseling Clinic. Because the Counseling Program and Telehealth Counseling Clinic are 100% online, this will be a remote position.

    Preference will be given to candidates with a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision, who are fully licensed, and possess additional credentials in supervision and telehealth.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    The Clinical Assistant Professor of Counseling will:

  • Provide individual, triadic, and/or group supervision to Practicum students and interns engaged in the Telehealth Counseling Clinic and other clinical sites.
  • Provide intervention and direction for interns who have clients in crisis
  • Work with the Clinical Director of the Telehealth Counseling Clinic on day-to-day responsibilities
  • Help collect and analyze clinic data
  • Contribute to the annual summer workshop
  • Provide service at the program level, such as academic and career advisement, accreditation, admissions, faculty meetings, etc.
  • Teach courses when supervision duties are light
  • Provide service at the college level through online committee work
  • Participate actively in professional, honorary, and accrediting organizations
  • Personally engage in professional activities that meet or exceed standards for graduate faculty
  • Collaborate effectively with departmental and inter-departmental colleagues on training, program development, and accreditation activities
  • Minimum Qualifications

    Basic Qualifications for Clinical Assistant Professor:

  • Basic Qualifications for Clinical Assistant Professor:
  • A doctoral degree in Counselor Education and Supervision (preferably from a CACREP-accredited program)
  • Full counselor licensure (e.g., LPC, LPCC, LMHC)
  • One or more years of online teaching and/or supervision experience
  • Eligible for a supervisor credential
  • Preferred Qualifications for the Clinical Assistant Professor:

  • Supervision credentials
  • Five or more years in clinical practice
  • Telehealth experience
  • Three or more years teaching in a university setting in an online format
  • Experience with the following: Moodle, Zoom, and Tevera
  • A strong sense of creativity, motivation to move forward, and a good sense of humor
  • Experience with CACREP accreditation
