Position Overview

Primary Purpose of Position

The primary purpose of this role is to provide student centered teaching in both didactic and clinical instruction in undergraduate level courses. Faculty in this position will provide student advising, student mentoring and recruitment, curriculum development and conducting scholarly activities. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to engaging in accreditation procedures, program assessment and service to the school, College, and University as needed. This is a 12-month position.

Primary Function of Organizational Unit

North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University is a doctoral/research community with a focus on students. Our campus sits on 200 beautiful acres in Greensboro, NC Our enrollment is more than 10,000 students and our workforce includes more than 2,000 employees. The School of Nursing is in the College of Health and Human Sciences with a community of scholars in the disciplines of social work, sociology, psychology, kinesiology, speech/communication, and health service management programs. The School of Nursing at NC A&T is fully accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing. The BSN program has traditional, accelerated, RN-BSN, and RIBN entry options. The School of Nursing is a partner in the Union Square Campus, a key initiative of Opportunity Greensboro. Union Square is a 103,000 square foot state-of-the-art healthcare simulation center.

Minimum Requirements

A minimum of a master's degree in nursing is required.

Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education

PhD in nursing or DNP is preferred.

Prior teaching experience in baccalaureate and/or graduate nursing programs or credentials to meet the North Carolina Board of Nursing's educational requirement is required.

Three years clinical experience related to the concepts and theories essential in providing nursing care. Adult Health specialty preferred.

Nurse Educator Certification

Skills with Blackboard LMS, Banner INB, Microsoft Office Software

Required License or Certification

Must hold a current unrestricted license as a registered nurse in North Carolina or have eligibility to obtain North Carolina Registered Nurse License. If candidate is an Advanced Practice Nurse, must hold national certification.
