Position Summary
The Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is seeking to fill one or more full-time Clinical Assistant, Clinical Associate, or Clinical Professor of Management & Corporate Communication position(s). These fixed-term, renewable faculty positions will have an anticipated start date of July 1, 2023. The hired candidate(s) will carry a teaching load focused on our core undergraduate communication course.
The Management & Corporate Communication academic area is 26 years old and offers core and elective communication courses in the following programs: Undergraduate, residential and online Master of Accounting, residential and online Master of Business Administration (MBA), Executive MBA, and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD). Our area also includes the Business Communication Center, which is staffed by a full-time center director as well as 8-12 MBA consultants and serves as a writing and speaking resource for all programs in the Kenan-Flagler Business School. There is a promotion track in the Kenan- Flagler Business School for clinical faculty members.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Applicants must have completed a master's degree in Rhetoric, English, Communication Studies, Professional Communication, or a related field prior to beginning work activities and can anticipate an initial appointment of Clinical Assistant, Clinical Associate, or Clinical Professor, depending on credentials.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
A PhD or terminal degree in a related field is preferred, and we seek creative and effective teachers who are committed to cultivating an equitable and diverse learning environment for students. Additionally, the most competitive candidates will have university-level teaching experience in both business writing and speaking. Other helpful skills include general business knowledge and experience in teaching international students.
