The Department of Physician Assistant Studies and Services in the Carver College of Medicine at the University of Iowa invites applicants for a clinical track faculty position at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level. The clinical track position includes a 12-month appointment, fringe benefits and privileges awarded as faculty in the Carver College of Medicine. The primary appointment of the faculty member will be in the Department of Physician Assistant Studies and Services. Faculty may also work clinically in a functional area of healthcare at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics or elsewhere upon approval from the Department Executive Officer (DEO).

Education Requirement:
A Master's degree is required, a Doctoral degree is preferred from an accredited College or university.
Required Qualifications:
Graduate of an Accredited PA Program or LCME-accredited Medical School
Eligibility for PA/MD licensure in Iowa
Demonstrated experience teaching within the healthcare sciences professions
Certifications:
For all Physician Assistant applicants, NCCPA Certification is required.
Desirable Qualifications:
Previous clinical experience practicing medicine as a PA or MD
Previous PA program faculty experience and/or classroom education experience
Previous clinical education experience with PA or other health professional students
Previous experience authoring clinical or professional topics
Demonstrated outstanding abilities and skills in teaching, scholarship, and/or clinical practice.
Desire to foster student learning, development, and decision-making in support of department goals.
Strong interpersonal skills that enable rapport with diverse faculty, staff, and student populations.
