Job description

The International Admissions Team, at the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) is seeking a Clinical International Admissions Officer to deliver a first-class admissions and recruitment service for the University's international applicants, offering professional advice directly to applicants, whilst ensuring quality and standards are maintained.

The primary focus of the role is to process all Bachelor of International Surgery – International route (BDSi) applications against set entry criteria and help build and maintain excellent working relationships with academic colleagues and internal and external stakeholders. The post will also involve assisting the International Admissions Clinical Team, where required and directed by the Senior Admissions Officer.

The role will also involve the organisation of interviews for the BDSi course including assisting with room bookings and entry assessments and any other related duties as required.

We are looking for a proactive, enthusiastic colleague who can deliver a professional and efficient service. They need to have a genuine interest in and understanding of Higher Education admissions and should ideally have previous admissions experience or similar transferable experience and looking to further utilise their skills and experience in this area.

The successful candidate will have A levels or equivalent experiential learning, as well as excellent IT skills, including the ability to work with sets of data and interpret the results. They must also have the ability to cope with shifting and demanding priorities and be able to communicate with a wide range of people with diverse backgrounds at all levels within and external to the organisation.

Applicants have high expectations of the standard of the service they will receive, and we are looking for a colleague who has the proven ability to provide high levels of customer service. The processes and regulations associated with these programmes can be complex, so the role holder needs to be able to evaluate and implement change where necessary.
