Job description

Your area of responsibility essentially includes:

  • Preparation of films of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) using pump, spray and spin-coater methods, including the use of various substrates (quartz glass, QCM sensors)
  • Characterization of samples using X-ray diffraction (XRD), infrared, UV- vis and CD spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy (SEM)
  • Measurement of loading of guest molecules from the gas phase using a quartz-crystal microbalance (QCM) and QCM arrays
  • Investigation of the sensor performance with regard to sensitivity, selectivity and reproducibility
  • Data analysis, also using machine learning algorithms The activity is suitable for doctoral studies.

    Personal qualification

    You have a university degree in chemistry (Master's degree). Previous knowledge of MOFs, thin films, sensor technology and/or data analysis using machine learning is desirable. Personally, you convince with a high level of motivation and an independent way of working as well as a very good command of written and spoken English and the ability to work in a team.

    Salary category 13, depending on the fulfillment of professional and personal requirements.
