Position Description:

We seek an innovative, entrepreneurial, resourceful, and dynamic person to lead and mentor a department that emphasizes a university-wide commitment to preparation of teachers. The new chair will provide the vision and direction to guide the Department to higher levels of excellence. The Chair is responsible for overall leadership and administration of the department including oversight of academic programs, faculty review, course scheduling, budget, support of faculty productivity and professional development, and facilitation of innovation. This is a 10-month, administrative position with teaching responsibilities and expectations for scholarship. The Chair is assisted by two graduate program directors and serves on the Dean's Council, the Quality Assurance Team for Educator Preparation, and the University Teacher Education Council.

Rank will be commensurate with experience.

Department:

The department offers a range of undergraduate and graduate degree programs including an Ed.D. program with three tracks, a Master of Science program with three tracks, and three undergraduate majors in early childhood education, special education, and elementary education that qualify students for licensure in the state of Indiana.
