The Faculty of Science & Technology (FST) engages in world-leading research that makes a demonstrable difference to the economy and society. Our Faculty wide research centre, Energy Lancaster , brings together expertise in a wide range of energy-related fields from across the research community within FST.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Director to lead Energy Lancaster into its next phase.

Formed in 2010, Energy Lancaster (EL) brings together world-leading expertise based at Lancaster in a wide range of research fields spanning the entire energy ecosystem (demand, supply, storage and disposal) as well as their environmental and social impacts. Working with global, regional, and local organisations, Energy Lancaster is addressing the urgent societal challenges around decarbonization, sustainability and the security of energy supplies to support the world's energy needs.

As the Director of Energy Lancaster, you will lead the development and delivery of the University's research strategy in energy-related areas. You will lead, stimulate, and undertake externally funded research in areas related to Energy, complementing and enhancing existing activities at Lancaster. You will work with the Energy Lancaster community and others within the University to nurture a mutually supportive research culture. You will also identify and develop opportunities for new areas of Energy-related research and build effective networks to support the successful delivery of the University strategy and enhance Lancaster's reputation in Energy and related areas.
