Position Summary

The Catering Department at the University of North Texas is seeking to hire a Catering Dining Associate – Hourly to join our team.

The Catering Dining Associate – Hourly will provide food service assistance under the supervision of the Food Service Supervisor(s) and the Food Service Manager. Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

  • Serving food to students and University staff.
  • Assists full-time kitchen staff and performs food preparation.
  • Cleans dining areas and washes pots and dishes.
  • Performs cashiering duties.
  • Other duties as assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications

    There are no minimum education or experience requirements. The following knowledge, skills, and abilities are required:

  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions and maintain records and complete forms accurately.
  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts to complete tasks (for example: collecting cash and making change).
  • Knowledge of the care and use of food service equipment and kitchen utensils.
  • Knowledge of health hazards in food preparation and service and necessary precautionary measures.
  • Knowledge of safety and security precautions appropriate to work performed.
  • Preferred Qualifications

    The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications:

  • Experience in food service.
  • Experience in cash handling.
  • Required License / Registration / Certification Work Schedule
