Catalytic Conversion Of Co And Co2 Into Products Of Wide Industrial Interest

Universities and Institutes of Italy

Italy

September 27, 2022

Description

  • Organisation/Company: Università degli Studi di Parma
  • Research Field: Chemistry › Applied chemistry
  • Researcher Profile: First Stage Researcher (R1) Recognised Researcher (R2) Established Researcher (R3) Leading Researcher (R4)
  • Application Deadline: 27/09/2022
  • Location: Italy
  • Type Of Contract: To be defined
  • Activities will be aimed to the development of new methodologies to activate CO2 and CO molecules under mild conditions with the use of metal or organo- catalysts, in order to synthesize industrially relevant organic compounds such as ureas, carbamates, carbonates and esters, starting from largely available materials such as alkynes, alkenes, alcohols, amines, and including natural sources. Different strategies will be pursued, starting from the carbonylation conditions developed by the research group over the years to the most recent methodologies based on the use of visible light for the catalytic activation of CO2. The possibility to employ a heterogeneous catalytic system will be also pursued in order to recycle the catalyst. Activities will be devoted to the development of an efficient and cost effective catalytic system able to convert CO2 and CO under mild conditions.
