Exciting opportunities exist for team-oriented veterinary nurses to join the friendly team at the University of Adelaide's Roseworthy Veterinary Hospital – Large Animal Unit

We are seeking suitably qualified or experienced veterinary nurses or those whom are working towards their Certificate IV in Veterinary nursing or Bachelor of Veterinary Technology, and have some large animal handling experience. Casual staff will support duty Clinicians and nurses in providing high quality care for all equine and hobby farm animal patients (goats, sheep, alpacas etc). Duties include working in the hospital setting with internal medicine specialists; monitoring and treatment of hospitalised patients including emergency triage and critical care; working with surgeons on elective and emergency procedures and providing support and assistance to primary opinion clinicians for both emergency and non-emergency consultations.

Working as part of the clinical team you would be called upon to support additional workload within the hospital as we are open 24/7. This includes nights, weekends, and public holidays.

The Roseworthy Veterinary Hospital, Large Animal Unit (RVH) is part of the School of Animal and Veterinary Sciences' clinical teaching facility which operates on a commercial basis, offering a range of first opinion and specialist veterinary services to the general public and referring veterinarians. The RVH also provides a clinical training environment for veterinary students working under the close supervision of experienced veterinarians, nurses and support staff. The RVH is situated on the University's picturesque Roseworthy Campus, approximately 9km from the township of Gawler and on the doorstep of the world-renowned Barossa Valley wine region.
