Description

Temple University's Facilities department is searching for a Carpenter.

This union position pays $33.57/hr with a 40 hour work week.

Reporting to the Carpenter & Painter Supervisor the Carpenter reports to and works under the guidance of the Supervisor. Has medium to a high level of expertise to perform skilled carpentry. Assists with the maintenance, repair, and renovation of all carpentry aspects of university buildings. Maintains a safe and workable environment for all building users. Candidates should possess excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills. Focus on high-quality work and efficiency is required

Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:

Completion of a recognized apprenticeship as a carpenter, or full journey status as a carpenter in a union, or five years applicable work experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Required Skills and Abilities:

Must have a valid Driver's License

Ability to travel between campus work sites

Ability to be a team player and work towards common goals in a timely and constructive manner

Capable of prioritizing urgent projects and working in a fast-paced and challenging work environment

Capacity to work independently without constant supervision

This position requires a background check.
