The University of York's vision is for every York student to have access to, engage with, and benefit from, the highest standard of support for their personal and career development. But more than this; we are also realising our responsibility and commitment to continue this support across the professional lifespan of each and every York graduate, ensuring that our entire global alumni network continues to thrive in their developing - and oftentimes changing - careers.
The University's Careers and Placements team, based within Student & Academic Services, has partnered up with the Office for Philanthropic Partnerships and Alumni (OPPA) to work on an innovative initiative called York for Life ; a new and exciting alumni proposition which sets a bold new direction in alumni support.
A significant part of this work is to provide and engage our diverse alumni audience with relevant careers information; supporting them to navigate the graduate job market and successfully transition the different milestones of their professional life.
In this role, the chosen candidate will be responsible for writing, designing, curating and maintaining high quality careers information and marketing communications relevant for our alumni at different stages of their career - sharing this information via our new York for Life digital platform and other communication channels, such as email and social media. There will also be some focus on engaging final year students before they transition through to post-graduation, raising awareness of the support that will subsequently be available to them. In addition to the production of outward communications, the role will also handle a range of enquiries from final year students, graduates and alumni.
We are looking for an experienced communicator, who is able to have digital and in-person conversations, as well as present information and services in an engaging and customer-focused manner.
