Position Summary:
As a member of the School of Social Sciences, the incumbent is tasked with upholding and exemplifying excellence in the University's core competencies-- job mastery, goal accomplishment, enterprise contribution and innovation-- while representing the Directors, Center, Dean and the School of Social Sciences to members of the campus, UC system and the community at large. As the University continues to expand and shift culturally, it is imperative that the incumbent is a team player, supporting change management at the department level while aiding in the facilitation of effective change School-wide. Under direct supervision, administers the 12-month cohort program, including supporting the application and selection process for cohort participants. Applies professional student services concepts. Provides varied student services to students, faculty, and department / school / college management. Works on moderately complex issues. Receives assistance on more complex issues. This is a contract position at differing percentages each year with guaranteed funding through June 30, 2027. Continued appointment is contingent upon receipt of additional grant funding.
Compensation Range:
$27.66 - $29.50 Hourly

Required:
1 – 2 years in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
Interpersonal skills. Ability in problem identification and reasoning. Knowledge of University processes and procedures. Basic knowledge of student immigration and visa processes pertaining to international students and scholars. Skills in service orientation, organization, active listening, and critical thinking. Ability to multi-task; verbal and written communication skills. Multicultural competencies; ability to work with diverse populations. Knowledge of advising and counseling techniques. Knowledge of University- specific computer application programs and pertinent databases. Understanding of University rules and regulations.
Preferred:
Bilingual English/Spanish highly preferred
