The Campus Inspection and Event Setup Assistant performs a variety of tasks related to the inspection of college safety equipment, event setup and furniture movement and setup. Position works with the Building Service Specialist to ensure and timely completion of tasks related to the inspection of college safety equipment, event setup and furniture movement and setup.

Minimum Education/Experience
Current OCCC student enrolled in a minimum of 6 hours for the Fall or Spring semester or enrolled in a minimum of 3 hours for the Summer semester.
OR
Current OCCC student with a Federal Work Study award.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
Physical Demands/Working Conditions
1. GENERAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Heavy work: This position requires the person to occasionally exert up to 100 pounds of force and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
2. PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES: This position requires the person to frequently move about the various campuses.
This position requires the person to frequently communicate with and listen to Facilities Management staff to perform the essential functions of the position. Must be able to exchange accurate information in various situations.
This position requires the person to frequently remain in a standing and stationary position.
This position requires the person to frequently operate equipment that frequently involves repetitive motions of hands and wrists.
This position requires the person to occasionally ascend/descend a ladder to perform the essential functions of the position.
This position requires the person to frequently position self to move, lift, push, pull, work on, or operate equipment.
3. VISUAL ACUITY: This position requires the person to judge, observe and assess the accuracy, neatness, thoroughness of work assigned or to make general observations.
4. WORKING CONDITIONS This position's essential functions are performed outdoors and subject to extreme cold (temperatures below 32 degrees) and extreme hot temperatures (temperatures above 100 degrees).
This position requires the person to communicate above ambient noise levels and exchange accurate information in various situations.
Preferred Qualifications
Ability to effectively use a variety of hand tools.
Ability to read simple drawings and plans.
Valid driver's license.
Required Training Work Hours
25 Hours a week arranged around school schedule.

Job Duties (Duties Assignment Statement)
Assists the Building Service Specialist in setting up and tearing down arrangements of tables, chairs and other requested resources for events.
Performs or assists in monthly inspections of fire extinguishers and interior call boxes.
Replaces overhead light bulbs
Cuts and replaces ceiling tiles
Perform repairs within capability.
Inspects college safety equipment as described.
Perform related work as required.
Moves and sets up office or classroom furniture on an as-needed basis.
Assists in the occasional repair of furniture.
Performs aforementioned duties between the hours of 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with occasional evening/weekend hours as necessary. Schedule accommodations will be made for academic classes.
Possible opportunities for work hours during break periods and holidays.
Job responsibilities will cover the main campus, Capitol Hill and the FACE Center.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Participate in all applicable OCCC emergency, evacuation, shelter in place drills, and be prepared to take action and assist others in taking appropriate action should a health or safety emergency occur
