A call is open to award a Research Grant (BI) within the scope of the
GreenShoes 4.0 - Footwear, Leather Goods and Advanced Technologies of
Materials, Equipment and Software (POCI-01-0247-FEDER-046112), financed by
the Programa Operacional Competitividade e Internacionalização (POCI) in the
scope of “Portugal 2020”.
Benefits
The fellows will benefit of a salary of 1144,64 € as per the table of
remuneration of FCT, I.P. The fellow will also benefit from a personal
accident insurance, and if not included in any social security protocol, may
adhere to the Portuguese Social Security through the Seguro Social Voluntário
(Voluntary Social Security), in the terms present in the Portuguese Código
dos Regimes Contributivos do Sistema Previdencial de Segurança Social. The
monthly salary will be payed monthly by bank transfer
Selection process
a) Curriculum assessment and its suitability for the research position
(60%);
b) Experience in research activities, namely with leather tanning processes,
polymeric coatings, application of nano-fillers, crosslinking agents and
material characterization techniques (40%).

Skills/Qualifications
The project GreenShoes 4.0, aims to establish Portugal as a world reference
for consumers and industry, through differentiation, creativity and value
creation, boosting national exports based on a strong, sustainable,
competitive national-based industry, founded on technical-scientific
knowledge.The scholarship holder will give support to the activities related
with with the development of multifunctional leathers for footwear and leather
goods. S/he will intervene in the following project activities: A2.1. –
Multifunctional leathers for footwear and leather goods; A2.5. – Construction
of prototypes, pre-series and validation tests; A4.2. – Demonstrators,
experimentation and transfer of results.
Specific Requirements
1) Student enrolled in a PhD course in Chemical Engineering or in a non-
academic degree course integrated in the educational project of a higher
education institution;
2) Master in Chemical Engineering;
3) Adequacy of the candidate experience to the objectives of the work to be
carried out, namely experience in projects with the industry;
4) Experience with leather tanning processes, polymeric coatings, application
of nano-fillers and crosslinking agents.
