Offer DescriptionA post-doctoral position is now open in the laboratory of research on molecular basis of Acute Myeloid Leukemia headed by Dr. Alexandre PUISSANT (https: // gencelldis.fr/a-puissant-team/) at the St. Louis Research Institute, Paris, France. You will be expected to decipher molecular mechanisms involved in leukemia development in pre-clinical mouse models of AML. Unbiased in vivo screening approaches will also be deployed in order to provide new therapeutic strategies to treat AML. Large-scale shRNA screening, genetic, biochemical, cell biological, as well as genome-wide approaches (whole-exome sequencing, RNA-Seq, ChIP-Seq, single-cell approaches) will be applied.
The St. Louis Research Institute (INSERM U944-CNRS UMR7212, see https: // gencelldis.fr/) is located at the Saint-Louis Hospital campus in Paris City. The research developed in this institute encompasses a broad spectrum of fields, including cell biology, cancer genomics, cancer biology and leukemia research. Most studies carried out in the unit bridge several of those fields and have implications in translational research, together with clinical groups of the Saint-Louis Hospital. Our laboratory benefits from a direct access to the core facilities of the St Louis Research Institute, including: a recently extended animal facility, a sequencing facility (Mi- seq, Hi-seq, and NextGen-seq technologies), a flow core facility (BD cell cytometer and sorter), and a microscopy core facility. We are looking for a highly motivated candidate with extensive experience in molecular and cellular biology.
Applicants should hold a PhD degree in Biochemistry/Molecular Biology or related disciplines (or have recently submitted their thesis with scheduled defense) and have published (or about to publish) in a peer reviewed journal. Experience with mouse-based work will be an asset.
