At Simula Research Laboratory in the Department of Validation Intelligence for Autonomous Software Systems (VIAS), we are seeking a 2,5-years postdoctoral fellow in the EU-funded project MARS (Manufacturing Architecture for Resilience and Sustainability).
Project
MARS will develop Industry 4.0 emerging technologies including digital twins of products, processes and machines, central intelligence with fleet learning approaches, and data-driven manufacturing process models using multi-criteria intelligent optimization of processes and resources especially addressing environmental footprint.
The postdoctoral fellow's work will be central to Simula's activities in the project. The tasks are centred around 1) the development of neuro-symbolic models for computer-aided process planning (CAPP) and data processing of sensor-based data, and 2) the explanation of machine learning models for quality assessment.
