Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Business Manager III Supervisor for the Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy- Dean's Office. This position will report to the Director of Business and HR Services.

Among the key duties of this position are the following:

  • Manages the grant accounting and administration of some of the school's research centers as well as faculty grants and contract accounts and non- sponsored accounts.
  • Responsible for budget development, creating and maintaining boilerplate documents, directing pre-award submission processes and post-award set-up processes; preparing monthly financial reports for principal investigators, and preparing quarterly financial reports and invoice back- up documentation for all external sponsored projects.
  • Serves as a liaison with external sponsors and internal Rutgers units regarding administrative and reporting requirements for grants and contracts.
  • Serves as the point person, adviser and support on pre-award submission processes to all the school's business staff.
  • Operates with high-level of discretion and confidentiality.
  • Oversees internal assurances and controls for general accounting and grants management.
  • Directs the work of other Grant Administrators on Manager projects.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience demonstrating knowledge and understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and practices.
  • Requires five years of relevant experience.
  • Certifications/Licenses Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Highly experienced on federal award submissions such as NIH and NSF with expertise on collaborative proposals with external institutions and cost- share requirements.
  • Must be fluent in Excel, including pivot tables and Vlookups, and other advanced functions.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced MS Excel skills including data analytic applications.
  • Knowledge and experience using Access and/or SQL and Tableau.
  • Knowledge of university accounting systems, i.e., Marketplace, Cornerstone, HCM, RAPSS.

    Immunization Requirements
