The Connect Programme is an exciting University wide digital transformation portfolio to ensure readiness for a new Student Management System (SMS). The Business Architect is a key resource to support the delivery of the Programme and it's five projects. They will be a senior member of the Programme Delivery Team, and will take leadership of stakeholder management and communications, and organisational change and business transformation. They will design, develop and deliver the programme Change Management Plan, and direct the review of ‘As Is' and ‘To Be' Business Processes, Gap Analyses, and Impact Assessments. They will also design, develop, and deliver Communications Plans and manage key stakeholders. They will lead on Benefits Management, and will prepare benefit profiles, benefit realisation plans and benefit management strategies and also work to track and quantify benefits. They will create and contribute to Programme and Project Reports and documentation including Board Reports.

    Job Title: Connect Programme – Business Architect

    Faculty/Directorate: Digital & Technical Service (DTS)

    Grade: H

    Location: High Wycombe Campus with some remote working. Occasional travel to other campus locations e.g. Uxbridge and Aylesbury may be required.

    Job Purpose:

    The Business Architect is a key resource to support the delivery of the Connect Programme and it's five projects. They will be a senior member of the Programme Team. They will direct the business transformation required to successfully deliver the programme and project objectives. The Business Architect will take leadership of stakeholder management and communications, and organisational change and business transformation.

    Main Duties & Responsibilities of the role:

  • Design, develop and deliver a Change Management Plan.
  • Generate a culture of continuous improvement across the University.
  • Review ‘As Is' and ‘To Be' Business Processes in each project to ensure that these are optimised and aligned with project benefits.
  • Design Gap Analyses and Impact Assessments for each project where relevant.
  • Design, develop and deliver Communications Plans to ensure buy-in from all stakeholders.
  • Communicate widely the Programme and Project visions, business benefits and realisation of those benefits.
  • Manage key stakeholder groups including Super Users, change ambassadors, Workstream Leads, Advisory Group members, and ensure the Stakeholder Log is kept updated.
  • Prepare benefit profiles, benefit realisation plans and benefit management strategies and quantify the business benefits.
  • Lead activities associated with benefits realisation and ensure that the continual accrual of benefits can be achieved and measured, both during and after the Programme and its Projects have been completed.
  • Track the benefits and outcomes required from the Programme and its Projects, updating benefits profiles and milestones as appropriate.
  • Ensure that maximum improvements are made to existing and new operations.
  • Support the Programme Manager in the management of the programme, including on the Programme Board.
  • Creating and contributing to Programme and Project Reports especially Board Reports.
  • Comply with relevant legislative and other requirements (e.g., the Data Protection Act 2018 and GDPR; Health and Safety; UKVI; and Equality and Diversity) in all working practices.
  • Such other duties temporarily or on a continuing basis, as may reasonably be required.
