The MSLC and the Rutgers Science Explorer (RSE) provide mission critical activities focused on diversity, equity, and inclusion by providing a range of outreach programs in communities across New Jersey and Staten Island, including in under-served districts, designed to engage a diverse and inclusive population of K12 students in science (URM and women). The RSE mobile laboratory visits middle schools and special programs, providing K12 students with hands-on activities in support of this mission. The program employs CDL-licensed drivers for the Rutgers Science Bus to move the bus to off-site locations including: Deliver and pick up the bus from schools visited for Science Lessons, move the bus around campus for various events, and bring the bus to and from repair shops for various needed maintenance. The drivers are critical for the RSE to continue its mission, both when it returns to schools and by ensuring that it receives proper maintenance.
