About the Department
The Golden LEAF Biomanufacturing Training and Education Center (BTEC) is a
unique, cross-disciplinary instructional center that provides educational and
training opportunities to develop skilled professionals for the
biomanufacturing industry. BTEC's audience includes NCSU students and
professionals already involved in biomanufacturing or related industries. BTEC
also provides bioprocess development and analytical services to a wide range
of customers from academia and industry.
Essential Job Duties
Scientists at BTEC provide support for lab activities associated with NCSU
undergraduate/graduate courses and lab activities associated with BTEC's
Professional Development Short Course Program. In addition, laboratory
managers support projects that are part of BTEC's Bioprocess and Analytical

Prepare lab activities for assigned courses in bioprocess operations.
Instruct course participants during lab sessions for courses.
Develop lab activities for courses covering a variety of topics related to

Minimum Education and Experience
Master's degree OR Bachelor's degree in a related field plus four (4) years

Analytical test methods for raw materials and finished products.

Formulation development for freeze or spray dried products.
