Job description:

Im Rahmen unserer Forschungsaktivitäten zu Immunmodulation bei Krebs übernehmen Sie eine wichtige Rolle. In Zusammenarbeit mit dem wissenschaftlichen Personal und unseren klinischen Kooperationspartnern analysieren Sie in unserem Forschungslabor klinische Proben von Krebspatient:innen. Sie werden auch für präklinische Studien in Mausmodellen verantwortlich sein.

Bei diesen Aufgaben werden Sie die folgenden Methoden verwenden:

Isolierung und Sortierung von Zellen aus Tumorgewebe von Patient:innen oder Mäusen; Analyse von Zellen mittels Durchflusszytometrie; Zellkultur und funktionelle Analysen mit Immun- und Tumorzellen; Injektionen von Tumorzellen oder therapeutischen Substanzen in Mäuse; Präparation und Aufarbeitung von Mausgewebe; DNA-/RNA-/Protein-Extraktion sowie weitere molekularbiologische und proteinchemische Methoden

You will play an important role in our research activities on immunomodulation in cancer. In cooperation with the scientific staff and our clinical cooperation partners, you will analyze clinical samples from cancer patients in our research laboratory. You will also be responsible for preclinical studies in mouse models.

For these tasks, you will use the following methods:

Isolation and sorting of cells from patient or mouse tumor tissue; analysis of cells by flow cytometry; cell culture and functional analyses with immune and tumor cells; injections of tumor cells or therapeutic substances into mice; preparation and processing of mouse tissue; DNA/RNA/protein extraction, as well as other molecular biology and protein chemistry-related methods

Requirements:

Abgeschlossene Ausbildung als BTA / Biologielaborant:in oder vergleichbarer Abschluss

Teamgeist und Kommunikationsfreude

Praktische Erfahrung in mindestens zwei der oben genannten Methoden

Keine Vorbehalte gegen die Arbeit mit Patientenmaterial inkl. Blutproben und Tumormaterial sowie Mäusen und Mausmaterial

Hohe Genauigkeit bei der Durchführung von Experimenten

Flexibilität und Bereitschaft, sich neue Techniken anzueignen

Gute Deutsch- und Englischkenntnisse (Die Kommunikation innerhalb des internationalen Labors erfolgt auf Englisch.)

Completed training as BTA / biology laboratory assistant or comparable qualification

Team spirit and communication skills

Practical experience with at least two of the above methods

No reservations about working with patient material including blood samples and tumor material, as well as mice and mouse material

High accuracy when conducting experiments

Flexibility and willingness to learn new techniques

Good knowledge of German and English (communication within the international laboratory is in English)
