Position InformationUC Riverside's Auxiliary Facilities Services is recruiting for an Auxiliary Maintenance Supervisor. Auxiliary Facilities Services is a unit comprised of custodial, maintenance, resource management and administrative services that provides upkeep and service to Housing Services, Dining & Hospitality, Early Childhood Education, Transportation Services and parts of Campus Business Services. The Maintenance Supervisor reports to the Associate Director- Auxiliary Maintenance and will provide leadership to maintenance staff who work across the facilities overall portfolio owns/operates. Through their team, this position oversees the general maintenance and repair of structures/building systems/infrastructure; responsible for coordinating, directing, advising and instructing the service response to work orders as related to troubleshooting HVAC, plumbing, electrical, painting, carpentry, appliance repairs, and general maintenance. Manages clear and accurate documentation of all inspections, testing and maintenance performed. Utilizing FAMIS 360, assigns and directs daily work assignments; reviews work for quality and completion; monitors work orders and closes out completed work orders; runs/reviews aging reports and closure rates. Coordinates utility shut downs; ensures communication and notices are provided to impacted residents/customers and minimizes impact to residents/customers. Reviews plans, specifications, and requisitions for projects to establish daily, weekly, and long-range work schedules. Establishes and maintains stock inventory of parts, materials and equipment necessary for timely completion of projects. Coordinates, facilitates and monitors, safety and technical, training programs. Ensures IIPP, OSHA and all other safety requirements are followed and records maintained. Promotes and maintains a strong customer service focused environment and cooperative teamwork philosophy in the unit. Responsible for daily operational administration and personnel management, including staffing, hiring, training, disciplinary action, termination, and performance management. Maintains knowledge of building and safety codes, hazardous material handling and disposal, and labor contracts. In close coordination with the Auxiliary Facilities supervisory team, develops and monitors a preventative maintenance program. On call for after hours emergency response/support, serves on the Auxiliary Services emergency team who are responsible for planning, response and recovery.
The full salary range for the Auxiliary Maintenance Supervisor is $78,700 - $145,100 annually. However, the expected pay scale for this position is up to $98,000 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.
Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.

Special Conditions Special Condition RequirementMust be available for on-call emergency response support, and work varying shifts/hours when operationally necessary. Minimum RequirementsSolid knowledge and skills in the specialty craft supervised. Solid skills to effectively select and evaluate staff, and to appropriately handle disciplinary issues. Skills to actively promote and maintain safety standards. Solid supervisory skills to include organization, scheduling, assigning work and ensuring quality standards are met. Ability to ensure that quality and customer service standards are communicated, implemented and continually monitored. Skill in communicating effectively with campus clients, contractors, and support staff both verbally and in writing. Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language. Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Ability to generate and provide reports on project status, staffing, equipment, schedules, metrics, etc. Knowledge and understanding of applicable laws, rules, codes, regulations, and internal policies. Ability to motivate and inspire staff to provide the highest level of quality and service to campus constituents. Proficient computer/technical skills. Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Word, and Excel. Knowledge and understanding of troubleshooting in multiple trades such as HVAC, carpentry, electrical, paint, appliance repairs, plumbing and/or access control work. Prior experience and knowledge in safely using and operating hand and power tools common to general maintenance and repair. Ability to be flexible to shifting priorities, demands and timelines. Strong organizational skills to successfully complete multiple assignments with competing deadlines. Skill in working effectively, following through on assignments with minimal direction and a fluctuating workload. Ability establish and maintain interpersonal relations with diverse personnel, vendors and campus clients.
Preferred QualificationsSolid financial skills to accurately project costs of potential jobs and to consistently complete work within established budgetary and time constraints.
