    Inspects, maintains, and repairs a variety of vehicles and machinery, including police, grounds, and other department specific equipment.

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities

    Essential Performance Requirements • Purchases parts and supplies necessary for completion of jobs; maintains appropriate records • Checks and maintains all fluid levels for vehicles • Ensures proper maintenance and storage of tools, equipment, and chemicals in the shop • Assists with the maintenance of college vehicle records • Removes and repairs units such as engines, transmissions, or differentials using wrenches and hoists • Disassembles units and inspects parts for wear • Fabricates parts as needed to complete • Rebuilds parts, such as crankshafts and cylinder blocks, using lathes, shapers, drill presses, and welding equipment • Relines and adjusts brakes and replaces shock absorbers • Rewires ignition systems, lights, and instrument panel • Observes prescribed work and safety rules

    Service Excellence •Participates on behalf of the College in external community organizations and associations as assigned to support the essential performance requirements

    • Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite • Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through Tarrant County College (TCC) • Supports the values of the College: diversity, teaching excellence, student success, innovation and creativity and service to the College • Supports the mission, values and 3 goals and 8 principles of the College

    Required Minimum Qualifications
