expertise, mentoring students in professional and career preparation and
serving as liaison with professional contacts and entities on behalf of the
department or program.
About the Department and/or College
Area of Management
The Area currently has 21 faculty members and 11 doctoral students, who
publish research in top journals in the field and are award-winning subject-
matter experts in diversity, entrepreneurship, family business, human resource
management, leadership, organizational behavior, organization theory, and
strategic management. The Area takes pride in teaching excellence, and faculty
members have been awarded various teaching awards.
Rawls College of Business
The Rawls College of Business is AACSB accredited, and offers BBA degrees with
majors in accounting, energy commerce, finance, information technology,
management, marketing, and supply chain management. Several MBA programs are
offered. First, a Professional MBA hybrid program is offered for students who
wish to remain employed full-time; classes are offered one weekend per month
in three locations in Texas: Lubbock, Marble Falls, and Rockwall, as well as
an online MBA. A third MBA program is specifically designed for students with
undergraduate degrees in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics
(STEM). Finally, the College offers a number of Dual Degree MBA programs. We
also offer MS degrees in accounting, data science, finance, and marketing
research & analytics. A Ph.D. in business administration is offered with
tracks in accounting, finance, management, management information systems, and
marketing. We have 71 tenure track faculty and 59 non-tenure-track faculty.
The College has 4,640 undergraduate students and 872 graduate students.
Texas Tech University

The Area of Management in the Rawls College of Business at Texas Tech
University is accepting applications for two faculty positions at the rank of
assistant professor of practice (non-tenure track), to begin in Spring
(January) and/or Fall 2022. Candidates with a background in strategy,
entrepreneurship, organizational behavior, human resource management,
leadership, or a related field will be considered. Salary and benefits are
highly competitive and include financial support for professional development
and conference travel. Professional engagement and/or research is required to
maintain Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business qualification.
Each semester, the individual's primary teaching assignment will be three
undergraduate courses in principles of management (one position) or other
management courses (second position). Offload or graduate classes are a
possibility. Candidates must hold a doctorate in strategy, entrepreneurship,
organizational behavior, human resource management, or a terminal degree in a
related field. ABD candidates are encouraged to apply if all doctoral degree
requirements will be completed prior to start. Experience should include
classroom instruction and scholarly or practitioner research or extensive
practice in management (broadly defined). All candidates shall maintain
currency as scholarly academic or practice academic under the AASCB
international standards. A demonstrated and ongoing commitment to serving
diverse student populations and experience working with diverse student
populations and first-generation students is highly desirable. Candidates who
have very strong records of scholarship supported by extramural funding and
who have the proven capacity or clear potential to bring externally sponsored
research to Texas Tech University are encouraged to apply. Service duties
include program-building, as well as commitment to extra-curricular
