Job Summary

Works closely with the Vice President for Enrollment Management, the Enrollment Management team and other campus leaders to develop and implement innovative enrollment strategies to effectively establish and meet enrollment goals. The Associate Vice President is responsible for operating and implementing state-of-the art student enrollment services systems, particularly those that will increase new student enrollment and student success.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and strategic analysis in the development, oversight and integration of all aspects of enrollment management.
  • Develop strategies to engage the AVP's staff, academic areas and non- academic units in the successful execution of enrollment initiatives, particularly transfer excellence, CRM and admitting processes.
  • Work collaboratively across campus and particularly within the Enrollment Management division to establish enrollment goals and to develop and implement strategies to accomplish these goals.
  • Collaborate with key partner offices related to technology, marketing, website administration, student information systems, student affairs, athletics, faculty senate, etc.
  • Analyze data and leverage statistical modeling to create and meet enrollment goals, particularly those focused on FTIC enrollment, process improvements, market share, and financial aid leveraging.
  • Supervise and develop a large staff for the enrollment research team, admission processing and support staff, facilitating professional opportunities to improve individual capability and measuring performance against job accountabilities, department goals and established university and department policies and procedures.
  • Represent the university and enrollment management team at various meetings and trainings; serves on internal and external committees and councils, as appropriate.
  • Stay vigilant regarding regulations, industry trends and best practices in enrollment management and higher education, and implements policies and procedures to maintain compliance and achieve established enrollment goals.
  • Achieve goals within established budget.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree or higher.
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of experience directing staff in one or more of these enrollment management fields: admissions, registrar, financial aid.
  • Significant amount of leadership experience in enrollment management, student information systems or in other related work.
  • Effective influential communicator.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven record for creating successful student enrollment strategies that meet enrollment goals.
  • Enthusiasm for working with diverse populations.
  • Extensive experience with student information systems, particularly PeopleSoft.
  • Proven track record of leveraging data, analytics, and statistical/predictive modeling to identify and execute key strategies toward desired results.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and analyze complex situations and effectively develop action plans.
  • Success building partnerships on campus and off-campus, especially those that enhance student transfer through community college coordination.
  • Past or current service in at least one top leadership role of state, national or institutional committee.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to think strategically.
  • Solid data analysis skills.
  • A team player is a must.
