Birkbeck, University of London, is seeking two Associate Tutors this Autumn term 2024.

We have an excellent opportunity for two Associate Tutors to teach the following modules:

Position 1

  • Legal Systems and Methods (30 hours) – Undergraduate module, Autumn and Spring Term, Wednesdays, 1530-1700, in-person teaching.
  • Criminal Law (30 hours)- Undergraduate Module, Spring and Summer Terms, Thursday 1530-1700 in Spring, Tuesday and Thursday 1400-1530 in Summer, in person teaching.
  • Law of the Trial (15 hours), Spring Term, Thursday, 1800-1930, in-person teaching.
  • Position 2

  • Tort Law (30 hours) – Undergraduate Module, Autumn and Spring term, Wednesday, 1800-1930, in-person teaching.
  • Criminal Law (30 hours) – Undergraduate Module, Spring and Summer term, Thursday 1800-1930 (Spring), Tuesday and Thursday 1800-1930 (Summer).
  • Law of the Trial (15 hours) – Undergraduate module, Spring term, Thursdays, 1530-1700, in-person teaching.
  • You will have knowledge of Criminal Law and experience of teaching and delivery at undergraduate level and be qualified to the corresponding level of the award as required to teach (or demonstrate equivalent professional/industry level experience).

    Remuneration

    Payment is based on an hourly rate depending on length of continuous service with the College (starting rate £58.48 per hour inclusive of pro-rata London Allowance and holiday pay) for contact hours worked. This hourly rate is based on the starting point of Grade 6 and is inclusive of a ‘Duties Related to Teaching Multiplier' at 2.5, which covers preparation, teaching, administration, assessment marking and other examining duties in connection with the course.
