The topics of research work carried out in the "Living Materials" team represent a two-way connection between these fields. Biological elements are used to create functional systems, and the achievements of chemistry (e.g., nanoparticles, non- equilibrium systems, artificial membranes) are intended to solve problems affecting medicine and biology. The issues being pursued also concern the creation of abiotic systems with the characteristics of animate systems.

    The winner of the competition will conduct research, supervise the work of less experienced team members (including post-docs, PhD students, undergraduates, and interns), prepare texts of scientific publications (submitted to scientific journals from the Philadelphia list), patent applications, reports, and reports. The Candidate will be expected to apply for external funding for ongoing scientific research. The selected person will be hired as a professor at the Institute and will conduct research in the subject area of Team 2 at the Institute of Physical Chemistry PAS, Warsaw, Poland.

    Others: The successful candidate will become part of an experienced and well- equipped multidisciplinary team and will have the opportunity to gain a comprehensive knowledge of the physical chemistry of biological systems, particularly new materials, biomaterials, and systems far from equilibrium.

    Eligibility criteria
  • Completed university studies in the field of chemistry, academic degree habilitated doctor, in the discipline chemical sciences;
  • Experience in leading scientific projects funded from external sources;

  • postdoctoral fellowship held at a foreign institution;
  • confirmed experience in supervising students;
  • Skills in the English language allowing for the preparation of scientific publications for journals on the ISI Master list.
  • Selection process
  • Creativity measured by the quality and number of scientific publications in which the Candidate is the first author, corresponding author or significant author1 and patent applications/patents and/or implementation;
  • Mobility in the Candidate's career (research internships, change in scientific profile, internships and work in industry);
  • The number of citations of the Candidate's work, especially those papers in which the Candidate is the first author, corresponding author, or significant author;
  • Creativity measured by the quality and number of research projects the Candidate has led and publications resulting from the implementation of those projects;
